Location & Directions

The royal-residence town of Oettingen in Bavaria lies on the idyllic northern rim of the Ries meteorite crater.
On the main market square, the opposing Baroque and half-timbered buildings form a unique ensemble of town architecture.
„Residence concerts” (Residenzkonzerte) are performed throughout the year in the residential palace and are well known far beyond the region.

Arriving by car:
Slightly more than a 30-minute drive from the north-south and east-west highways, Oettingen is on the B466 and near the „Romantic Road”.

Arriving by plane:
The airports of Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart are most convenient.

Arriving by train:
• from Munich to Otting-Weilheim or Nördlingen
• from Nuremberg to Otting-Weilheim or Gunzenhausen
• from Stuttgart to Nördlingen
